About Steve
Professionally, I’m a musician, composer & producer creating music & sound in the seemingly unrelated nexus between underground electronic hiphop and big corporate media. I spend most days in my Los Angeles CA USA studio writing music for clients including Honda, Lexus, Sony, and Disney. I spend most of my nights producing both west coast and hi-fi Japanese hiphop
In my spare moments I’m continually producing tracks for my recorded music library “Boombox Beats”, which is licensed globally. This past year I supplied a lot of the hiphop music that rocked the soundtracks to tv shows Desperate Housewives, Scrubs, The Shield, and General Hospital.
In 2009, I wrote some of the promotional commercials (promos), for the Oprah Winfrey Show” and “Dancing With The Stars”.
I wrote a featured song for the premier of a CW show; “The Beautiful People”, (starring Mischa Barton) and it promptly got canceled the next week, proving that you can’t win them all, or sometimes even any of them…

An improbably named song I wrote; “You’re The Freak” was nominated (it lost) for a 2008 daytime Emmy award.
Recently, among other things, I wrote a classical modern dance / ballet, created a best selling ring tone, had four songs in heavy rotation on MTV Japan, and had the incredible opportunity to remix some Paul McCartney music for Sir Paul himself. It just doesn’t get any more real than that.
So no matter how complex, fractured and undefined my life seems to get in all its technologically abstract agitation, it really comes down to:
music.
beats.
whatever.
